Photomontage (Osmose), 2006
mix media on photograph
various dimensions

The photomontages executed in Photoshop became in a way the equivalent of my sketchbook. Due to the monumental size of the mural, it was impossible to install the entire piece on my studio wall. I was able to have an aerial view of the work by installing it on the floor and standing on scaffolding but this offered a limited view, so I had to find another working method. The photomontages were therefore key elements. They provided a global frontal view at different stages of the process, at the same time as offering an idea of what the mural would look like from a distance. I produced twenty of these photomontages, of which four are exhibited here, revealing the evolution of the mural. The documents exhibited represent only a fraction of the research undertaken to create Osmose, but still allows you to witness the various stages and development of this project.
